Although Delucia’s Bake Shop is still carving its niche in the community, the owners have already initiated outreach, allowing local Girl Scouts to use their space and donating leftovers to a local food bank. Future aspirations include creating a scholarship program for aspiring culinary artists at Sandhills Community College. Delucia hopes to contribute while also fulfilling dreams.

Reflecting on the past year, Huggins describes the journey as a rollercoaster, filled with joyous highs and challenging lows. “We know it’s going to be slow sometimes but that doesn’t make it easier to pay rent,” Delucia admits. Examples of support from fellow bakers in the area during tough times showcase the camaraderie within the community, reaffirming that success isn’t just about revenue, but about relationships.
