A Serious Collision in Carthage
A two-vehicle collision in Carthage Thursday afternoon resulted in five individuals being transported to the hospital. The crash disrupted traffic and led to a portion of Union Church Road being closed for over an hour as emergency services responded and cleared the scene.
Details of the Incident
The incident unfolded at approximately 4:15 PM at the intersection of Union Church Road and Stage Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that a Nissan pickup truck, traveling east, crossed the centerline after the driver lost control, slamming into a Chevrolet truck that was headed west into town.
The force of the collision was significant, leading the Nissan to roll over and come to a rest on its passenger side several yards from the roadway. Debris littered the front yard of a residence near the crash site, indicating the severity of the impact.
Emergency Response
All three occupants of the Nissan and both individuals in the Chevrolet sustained injuries and were immediately taken to Moore Regional Hospital for treatment.
